Overview:
The Corsair Brand Voice is a 20-second speculative brand identity video created hypothetically for a Corsair gaming mouse. This project was not produced for or affiliated with Corsair, but instead served as an exercise in developing and articulating a brand voice through motion. The objective was to help a brand find and express its identity, whether for a specific product or a broader awareness campaign, through a concise, visually compelling animation.

Process:
The process began with researching existing brand voice and product launch videos to understand how motion communicates personality. After selecting Corsair as the hypothetical brand, deeper analysis was conducted into its gaming-focused aesthetic, visual intensity, and competitive tone. Short storyboards were created to explore timing, camera movement, and typographic integration before moving into production. The 3D animation was built in Cinema 4D using pre-existing mouse and keyboard models, enhanced with custom lighting setups, dramatic camera angles, and keyframed movements to create a performance-driven atmosphere. The rendered frames were then brought into After Effects, where typography was layered into the environment. Masking and compositing techniques were used to make the type feel embedded within the 3D space, seamlessly interacting with the objects and camera movement.

Outcomes:

The greatest challenge was balancing the integration of 2D motion graphics within a 3D environment while maintaining consistency with an already established brand style, even in a hypothetical context. Navigating between Cinema 4D and After Effects strengthened cross-platform workflow skills and reinforced the importance of honoring brand identity while still bringing a distinct creative perspective to the final piece.
